The first artist that interested me was Levi Van Veluw. I found that his portraits were amazing! His incorporation of naturalistic elements were what inspired me the most! I cannot immagine producing work like that.

Clearly he is expressing how nature and patterns play a role in his life or how he plays a role concerning nature. I feel that he is trying to express how he is made up of something that creates a bigger whole. I think that that depth of work must take a long time. Im sure it is satisfying to finally get to the point of photographing it.
The composition is created out of real-life meterials and makeup. That is quite a feat and I find it very impressive. To take the time to actually create that physically instead of digitally makes all the difference. I think this gives him an edge that other artists do not have. He certainly stands out!
