The third artist to grab my attention was Cindy Sherman

The reason that I picked Cindy was because her work thuroughly disturbed me. I was unsettled by her photography but at the same time I feel that it was both well constructed and that the message was worth looking at. There were several subjects of her works that consisted of different doll parts arranged in a way that severly distorted them.
I feel that these pieces explore the identy by exploiting the thought of someone being viewed sexually. They speak about objectifying the body and how distorted that type of view is. While I find these pictures creepy, I think they send a powerful and clear message. She was very successful with her compositions and how they communicated her message.
It is easy to see that I did not really enjoy these photos, however they were very interesting and not all successful artwork is something that you would take home and hang on your wall. I feel that this artist is definately worth a second look.
